Thawing Bath

A thawing bath is a device used to thaw frozen samples, such as blood, plasma, or serum, in clinical laboratories and blood banks. Thawing baths are designed to safely and quickly thaw samples while maintaining their integrity and preventing contamination or damage. 

Here are some features of a thawing bath:

• Temperature control: The water bath temperature can be adjusted based on the type and quantity of the sample being thawed. 

• Sample holder: A basket or platform is used to hold the samples. The platform can be designed to accommodate different sizes and types of sample containers. 

• Digital temperature controller: A digital temperature controller is used to control the temperature. 

• Water circulating pump: A water circulating pump is used to circulate water. 

• Removable tray: A removable tray is used to hold the plasma bags. 

• Buzzer: A buzzer alerts the user when the thawing process is complete. 

Some uses of a thawing bath include: Thawing frozen plasma within 24 hours after phlebotomy, Thawing cryoprecipitate AHF, Warming whole blood and red blood cells, and Warming crystalloid infusion solutions before transfusion

• LM-TB-FR-001, is a refrigerated thawing bath for preparation of cryoprecipitate at required temperature of 4°C

• LM-TB-HT-002, is a non-refrigerated thawing bath for quick thawing of plasma at required temperature of 37°C.
